As part of March’s National Science and Engineering Week, Portsmouth Natural History Museum will be running a special camera obscura event in partnership with local photographer, Janet Myers.

A camera obscura is a room with no light coming in, except through one small pinhole. Light from the scene outside the room enters the pinhole and projects a real-time image of the outside scene, onto the walls inside the darkened room. You might even see the number 1 bus drive across the ceiling of the museum’s large first floor room.

The event includes workshops for schools (£3 per pupil) 17th–20th March and a FREE open day for the public on Sunday 23rd March, 11am-4pm.
