Printing
Badger Press
A little off of the Island but sure to be of interest, Badger Press got in contact the other day about changes and new course plus an open evening tonight:
“A new team is taking over management of The Badger Press, an open-access printmaking studio in Bishops Waltham. We’re having an open evening next Friday 5th February between 4 – 9pm and inviting people to join us for a cup of tea and a slice of cake, visit the studio and find out about the courses we’re running.
The studio itself was founded in 1982 and covers screenprinting, collagraph, monoprint and Intaglio processes. The new team will continue to provide facilities and courses, and will work to support artists in Hampshire with exhibitions, guest speakers, trips and arts events. We’re keen to establish ourselves as a creative voice in the region and talk about printmaking, which we love and cherish, with everyone we meet.”
You can find out more about Badger Press at www.badgerpress.org and directions for the open evening here. Badger Press also have a Facebook page and are on Flickr.
Best of luck to Badger Press from us at Strong Island.

Volcom & Geoff Rowley at Bored
The Volcom Stone Age t-shirt screen printing tour visit to Bored by Geoff Rowley, Ben Raemers and crew went off with a bang last Friday. With well over the originally planned 100 t-shirts being printed and given away, the huge crowd of people that came through were obviously stoked to be a part of such a high profile skateboarding event in Southsea. Not to mention how nice both Geoff and Ben were too and how hard the crew worked as well in the heat. Good work to Kev at Volcom, the guys at Bored, Geoff and Ben, Stu from Lovenskate, the rest of the crew and everyone who came down and popped in. Check below for some photos and see more at Forever Circling. Also check out the Sidewalk blog post and the Bored blog too.

Within the studio they have two large format screen printing beds available plus hundreds of screens, light box, exposing unit and oven plus plenty of gallery space to hang and sell your work. All this is available to rent to all artists, designers, the general public. If you think your uncreative go and visit the Four Seven Fives for a day and prove yourself wrong with one of their workshops. They also have flexible hours, perfect for all students who have a deadline due and the screen printing studios close early.
