Pink Floyd’s Echoes collides with Stanley Kubrick’s 2001

Continuing our coverage of the Portsmouth Film Festival, tonight sees local tribute band Echoes of Floyd perform a live version of the track ‘Echoes’ alongside the final 25 minutes of Kubrick’s epic cult classic 2001. The track was not included in the final cut, however it has been long rumoured that when the two are synchronised, they result in an audio-visual feast greater than the sum of it’s parts.

Additionally the band will perform a half hour selection of space themed tracks from albums such as Dark Side of the Moon. These songs will be married with live imagery supplied by local VJ, Si Bridgen (Narcosis/ Coalition Festival) who will also present a specially edited 30 minute video montage of ‘Space Odyssey’.

The show begins at 6:30pm in The Loft, above The Kings, opposite the Kings Theatre. Tickets are £5, concessions £3.50.
