PRINT THIS Photography Exhibition Opens

Thursday night saw the opening of the PRINT THIS Photography Exhibition at Wallspace Gallery in Albert Road. The show is an exhibition of photos submitted to the PRINT HERE photography competition put on at the end of last year with Bored, Blueprint Skateboards and Quiet Corners to mark the launch of the Blueprint X Quiet Corners series of decks. The opening was also supported by Carhartt and London’s Meantime brewery and had an amazing turnout, despite the bad weather Southsea was heavily represented plus people made it over from Gosport, Chichester and all the way from London.

The exhibition is now open today and next Saturday (plus some week days to be decided) so feel free to pop by between 10am and 5pm. A selection of Quiet Corners prints and other bits and pieces will also be on sale too.

A HUGE thank you to Tom, Gary, Hussey, Matt Sills, Dan and Paul at Blueprint, Meantime and everyone that contributed to the show and a big thank you to everyone who made it out for the opening too.

PRINT THIS Photo Exhibition

A little while ago Bored, Blueprint Skateboards and Quiet Corners (myself) organised a photography competition called PRINT HERE to celebrate the release of the Blueprint X Quiet Corners deck series. The winners of that competition will be announced very soon. The competition was a huge success with over 200 entries from not only Southsea but all over the UK and the World and from that we are happy to announce details of the PRINT THIS exhibition at Wallspace Gallery in Albert Road. The exhibition opens with an opening party on Thursday 13th January from 7 to 9:30 with free booze supplied by Carhartt, if you get there early enough, and then an after party in LJRs. The exhibition contains highlights of the photos entered in to the competition and everyone is welcome to pop down. Some members of the Blueprint team will also be in attendance too. If you can’t make it the exhibition runs for two weeks. Hope to see you there!

Check the PRINT HERE website to see the photos and check the Facebook event for more details on PRINT THIS.

Print Here Photo Competition

Bored has organised ‘Print Here’, a photography competition in collaboration with Blueprint Skateboards and Quiet Corners (myself), in celebration of the release of the Quiet Corners series of Blueprint decks. The best submitted photos will win some Blueprint product and a signed A4 Quiet Corners print too.

The competition has a blog website which has all of the info and how to submit and also has all of the currently submitted photos on view too. The comp has only been up for 24 hours and there are a load of great photos up there already, very stoked! Get snapping and get involved.

P.S. The decks are available to buy in Bored and are on display on the back wall.

Blueprint in Southsea (and Emsworth)

A couple of months back the Blueprint Skateboards team came down as part of their national tour to promote their new film ‘Make Friends With The Colour Blue’. Whilst down here they did a demo at Emsworth skatepark, a signing at Bored and then were all in attendance at the south coast premiere of the film at Little Johnny Russells. I’ve posted up my photos from the day over at Forever Circling and included a few below as a quick glimpse:

Blueprint Demo

Last Tuesday saw Britain’s best skate company Blueprint Skateboards hit the south coast, first with a demo with all the team at Emsworth skatepark then a signing and product raffle at Bored before the first regional premiere of their new video ‘Make Friends With The Colour Blue’ in Little Johnny Russells. A huge thanks to Bored and Blueprint in arranging this awesome day.

The demo itself saw some incredible skateboarding and Tom from Bored managed to capture some of it on video. In the next day or two we’ll have photos from the day and their are already some over on the Blueprint website to check out as well.

Blueprint Skateboards Film Premier

We all know Bored runs things on the Southcoast and to mark the release of Blueprints “Make Friends with the Colour Blue” skate film, the whole team will be touring across the UK and will make their regional stop in Portsmouth on the 6th of April.

They will be hitting up Emsworth skatepark at 1pm for a demo session, then head over Bored for a 5pm signing and finish things off at 7.30pm in Little Jonny Russells for the regional premiere of “Make Friends with the Colour Blue”

For more information about this event please contact Bored at www.boredofsouthsea.co.uk or head over to the Facebook page for updates. Make sure to put this one in your diary. A very unique opportunity to see the Blueprint Team in Southsea. Hats off to the Bored team. Nice one.

Bored – Blueprint Advocate

Blueprint Skateboards recently put up an interview with the guys at Bored as part of their advocacy program, profiling the shops that have supported Blueprint the hardest. Pop over to the Blueprint website to have a read.

Best skater employee?

Toby Taylor, some people may say the wrong side of thirty for a skater but still we put our chips on him every time.

Features

PRIMARY – Extended & Improved

We have some great news about our PRIMARY phonography exhibition (find out all the details here) that we can now announce:

- The deadline for submissions has now been extended to Sunday 4th March. We have had some incredible submissions but want to set aside more time to make the exhibition something really special.

- The competition is now open to up to 10 submissions from each individual. With the ability to capture many photos on your phone over the next two months we we want you to not feel restricted to just three. The same rules apply about the photos conforming to compositions using the primary colours though. If you have already submitted feel free to send more photos over as and when you please.

- The exhibition will be hosted by Albert Road’s own Bonzo Studio who are also partnering up with us in the creation of the exhibition space. More news on this soon!

- Finally, we will be running a competition as part of the exhibition where the best three photos submitted will win some incredible prizes. We will be announcing the prizes available very soon but got to say, these will be the best prize haul we have ever offered.

- We will be putting together a poster for the exhibition that will be on sale on the opening night. The poster will feature some of the best submissions and all profits from the sales will go to a local charity (details to follow soon). Due to this we need to say that any photos submitted to PRIMARY will involve you giving us permission to use them for commercial purposes, if you do not want your photo used in this way simply let us know via email.

Well, that is it for now! We really hope to drum up as much coverage locally for PRIMARY in the next couple of months so if you could Facebook/Tweet/+1 about the exhibition we would really appreciate it. We would love this exhibition to be a real reflection of the whole population of Portsmouth with everyone taking part and feeling involved.
